The idea behind Ikigai
Ikigai is not a destination. It's a direction.
A floating home sailing around the world, where ocean exploration, sailing, freediving, kitesurfing, yoga, meditation and movement become part of a simpler way of living.
Why this boat is called Ikigai
Ikigai is often described as the place where what you love, what you can share, what the world needs and what can help sustain the journey come together.
For us, it did not remain a concept or a diagram. It became a boat, a floating home and a way of moving through the world.
Ikigai Sailing was born from a simple choice: to live closer to the ocean, the body, the breath, nature and people.
Today we are sailing in Guna Yala, Panama. Tomorrow we will be somewhere else. The route changes, but the direction remains the same.
What we love
The ocean, the wind, silence, movement, sunrise at anchor, the breath before a dive and the freedom of a simpler life.
What we share
Sailing, freediving, yoga, meditation, kitesurfing, functional movement, simple food, life aboard and care for the sea.
What we believe the world needs
Slower, more honest and more present experiences. Less consumption, more connection. Less performance, more listening. Less tourism, more relationship.
What keeps the journey alive
Guests, courses, onboard experiences and the community that chooses to support this project. Not a standard travel fee, but a contribution to a shared life in motion.
Our compass
Four elements guide the route of Ikigai.
Ocean
The sea is where everything begins: sailing, freediving, kitesurfing, exploration and life at anchor.
Body
Each day moves through the body: yoga, breathwork, functional training, sport, freediving and physical presence.
Presence
Ikigai is an invitation to slow down, listen, breathe and create space within a simpler way of living.
Community
Not guests to be served, but people with whom we share part of the journey, the boat and the route.
Maybe the journey starts with a question.
What am I really looking for?
If Ikigai speaks to something in you, write to us. We do not sell standard packages. We create simple, living experiences shaped around the people who come aboard.
